The human population has been able to exert so much pressure on the limited resources of our planet that people seem to be vying with one another, for grabbing a higher share of whatever is available. There is lane maneuvering competition on the roads; jostling in the malls; elbowing in the trains & buses & checkmating at the airports, in the mad race to outperform others.
All this has resulted into changed complexion & expression on the faces of the people. Lost is the pristine glow & innocence of the faces of the yore. Gone is the grace of the movement of the body. The human bodies appear tense & stiff. The faces wear distant looks. The eyebrows appear twitched; jaws locked; nostrils flared; ears glued to mobile phones; the eyes seem to penetrate some invisible mist & the lips change contours only to respond to forced conversations.
The human evolution through fast paced technological development has taken a heavy toll on the beauty & charm of the face & the body. The slower pace of life used to unveil blossoming faces radiating a serene glow; eyes had a mesmerizing sparkle of joy, the voice had a sound of relaxed tone, ears enjoyed the melodies of nature & the lips exhibited a contagious smile. In fact, the whole body showcased an admirable poise.
Are we succumbing to the pressures of a fast paced modern life ? We may not be able to do much about the way the whole world moves around us & forces us to change pace, but it cannot prevent us from taking it a little easy in the mind. It cannot restrain us from retaining our sublime magnetism.
All we have to do is to attempt to have a calm mind & indulge in a lip stretching smile. The moment we smile, the whole expression on our face changes & the eyes radiate some magical inner joy. And just notice the effect your own smile has on others. You would find that your smile has the power to ignite a series of smiles on the faces of the people around you. And it translates into a chain reaction, inducing more & more smiles. Magnificent & majestic ! Isn’t it ?
